Description:-

In many cases we’ve seen, users want to change their console system and want to install EPS console on another system.

This Article will help you, to re-install EPS console on another system with a couple of scenarios i.e

-> Current EPS console is already in a running state.

-> Current EPS console is removed due to the system got crashed & the user built a new system with a new Operating System.

Let’s take above scenario one by one and steps to overcome it.

1. Current EPS console is already in a running state.

The current EPS console is already in a running state, & if you are looking forward to migrating EPS console to another system or want to change the console system, kindly follow the below steps.

Step 1.

Open EPS console page first on your EPS console system.

Step 2.

Verify the system where you want to install EPS console, is it EPS client system or new build system for EPS console.

If it’s EPS client system, remove the client from it. Through remote uninstall option from the console.

In this scenario, we are looking forward to declaring “192.168.1.24” as EPS console, so we’ll going to remove EPS client from it, through remote uninstall option for installing EPS console on it.

Step 3.

After uninstalling EPS client, reboot the system & run EPS console setup on it, for installing EPS console.

Step 4.

Select the installation folder where you want to install EPS console.

Step 5.

Pre-Install Scan will be checked if any pre-requisite component is missing needs to be installed.

Step 6.

Sever Information needs to provide while installing of EPS console.

Step 7.

If your network is configured with any proxy, then you need to fill in proxy details over here.

Step 8.

Client Installation Settings, specify the installation path for installing EPS client which can be changed as per your need. But we suggest you keep the default one.

Step 9.

Set EPS console password and EPS client password.

Step 10.

Installation of EPS console.

Step 11.

Activate your EPS console with the product key which can be found under EPS license information from the EPS console.

Step 12.

Access new EPS console.

Steps 13.

After accessing the new console page, go to the old console page click on the Clients tab & take back of Group & Policy before re-directing EPS client.

Note: - After taking a backup of Groups & Policy, now you need to import Groups & Policy to your New EPS console.

Step 14.

Now Open your old EPS console and go to Admin Setting -> Redirection option.

We’ll redirect the client from Old EPS to New EPS.

Step 15.

Now Open New EPS console and verify, EPS client should get redirected to the new console.

Points to Remember:-

- Kindly take Backup of the Groups and Policy & Client list from the Old EPS console.
- Import above backup to your New EPS console for Groups & Policy.
- After completing the re-direction, once you see all your existing clients to New EPS console. Kindly remove Old EPS console from the system.
- After removing Old EPS console, install EPS client in the old console by creating new client package from New EPS console.
- All you did with the migration of EPS console from one system to another.

2) Current EPS console got removed due to the system got crashed & the user built a new system by installing New Operating System.

This scenario arises when your EPS console server got crashed & unable to boot or you had rebuilt the server by reinstalling Operating System.
Things you need to remember before re-installing EPS console.
- EPS setup file for eg. If your earlier EPS version was 7.2 then you need EPS 7.2 setup file only to proceed with the installation.
- For eg. If you're using an older version Seqrite EPS 6.4 and Server got formatted or rebuilt & if you are looking forward to upgrading EPS console to available latest version 7.2 then you need to make little bit changes while installing EPS console.
- On any SEPS client system, verify below file.
Go to C:\Program Files\Seqrite\Cagent\config\accaconf.ini and kindly note Serverport no. It’s 5052. This port number will differ as per EPS console version.
This port number need to enter during Client Installation Setting during SEPS console installation

- Server hostname & IP address should be the same as earlier or mentioned above accaconf.ini file for smooth communication with the client system.

Follow the below step one by one for re-installing EPS console:

Step 1.

Execute EPS Setup file.

Step 2.
Select the installation folder where you want to install EPS console.

Step 3.

Pre-Install Scan will be checked if any pre-requisite component is missing needs to be installed. You need to install IIS & pre-requisite components for EPS console.

Step 4.

Server Information needs to provide while installation of EPS console. In this Section, you need to select Server Information on which your previous EPS console was running and the same information needs to select over here also.

Note:- Keep the rest of the setting and port numbers as it is, do not change anything.

Step 5.

If your network is configured with any proxy, then you need to fill in proxy details over here.

Step 6.
Client Installation Settings, specify the installation path for installing EPS client which can be changed as per your need. But we suggest you keep the default one.

Note:- If you are installing the Same Version of EPS client, then you don’t need to change Client Agent Communication Port. But if your old console was an older version i.e Seqrite 6.4 and now you're installing latest version Seqrite 7.2 then you need to change the port as per the below file on the existing client system.
“C:\Program Files\Seqrite\Cagent\config\accaconf.ini”

Step 7.
Set EPS console password and EPS client password.

Step 8.
Installation of EPS console.

Step 9.
Activate your EPS console with the product key which can be found under EPS license information from EPS console.

Step 10.
Open EPS console page.

Note: - You will find only one client under EPS console, to connect all EPS clients with a console you need to restart the Client Agent service from the client system or need to reboot the client system for immediate reflection of a client under the console.
You all set now to access EPS console page.

Points to remember after re-installing EPS console.
- After re-installing EPS console, you won’t be able to see EPS client under a console or client status.
- You need to restart the Client Agent service or need to reboot the client machine for immediate reflection under the console. Once you have done Client will be visible under the console.
- Import your backed-up data like Groups & Policy. If it’s not backed up then you need to create new Groups & Policy as per your requirement.
