How to create custom exception rules in Seqrite Endpoint Security Firewall

Overview:

This KB will guide you through the creation of custom exception rules in the firewall


Steps to create custom exception rules:

1. Login into the Seqrite EPS web console

2. Click Clients > Manage Policies

3. Select the policy to add the custom firewall rule

4. Click on the Firewall option in the left panel as below:


5. Click on the “Add” button to create the custom firewall rule

6. Enter the Exception name and Select the protocol according to application/port requirement and click on the “Next” button.

7. Select the direction according to the application/port requirement and click on the “Next” button.
#Inbound Connections: Traffic coming towards the host system through the specific ports
#Outbound Connections: Traffic going out from the host system through the specific ports

8. Select the specific port or port range according to application/port requirement and click on the “Next” button.
#For Example Network printer uses TCP port “9100” for communication.

9. Select the specific remote IP or IP address range according to the requirement and click on the “Next” button.


10. Select the remote ports according to the requirement and click on the “Next” button.

11. Set the action to "Allow" or "Deny" the traffic and click on the “Finish” button.

12. Newly added firewall rule will be listed in the exception list as shown below:

13. Click on the “Save Policy” button to apply the policy configuration changes.
