How to take backup and restore in Seqrite UTM

Overview:

Seqrite UTM allows to take configuration backup which can help in case UTM crashes or if you want to revert to the previous settings. You can also schedule the configuration backup to be sent automatically to your email address when backup is taken manually or scheduled for a later date and time.

Steps to create a new backup:


1)Login to Seqrite UTM GUI

2) Navigate to System > Backup Restore. The Backup and Restore settings page is displayed.

3) Click Create new backup.

4) Add comments if any that are required.
5) Select the option to send backup file over email if required. Note: You must configure email settings under System > Notifications > Email settings before you can use this feature.
6) Click Backup Now.

The data is backed up and displayed in the list of Backups with the timestamp and version number.

How to download backup file?


You can download the backup files by clicking on the backup file link.

How to delete existing backup?

1) Navigate to System > Backup Restore.
2) Select the backup you want to delete and click the Delete icon.
3) Click Yes in the Delete confirmation box. The selected backup is deleted.

How to send backup over email manually?


1) Navigate to System > Backup Restore.
2) Select the backup you want to send over email and click the mail icon.

Note:
You must configure email settings under System > Notifications > Email settings before you can use this feature.

How to restore backup?

1) Navigate to System > Backup Restore.
2) In the Backup Restore section, click the Import icon on the upper right corner to browse and import the backup file.

3) Click Browse button.

4) Browse backup file location and select required backup file.

5) Click Upload file

6) From the Backup list, select the backup you want to restore.
7) Click the Restore icon.

8) Confirm the restore process by clicking yes, restore it. The backup will be restored.

Setting maximum number of backups:



The Seqrite UTM will backup only as per the schedule and the maximum number of backups specified.

1.Navigate to System > Backup Restore.
2.In the Settings area, specify the maximum number of backups to take.
3. Enter the backup prefix if any.
4. Click Save.

How to schedule backup?

1) Navigate to System > Backup Restore.
2) In the Schedule Backup settings section, select the frequency from Never, Monthly, Weekly, or Daily.

3) Select the date and time for the scheduled backup.
4) Enter comments if any.
5) Click Save
