24-04-2023 17:41:24

Overview:

What is SSL Certificate?

An SSL Certificate (Secure Sockets Layer), also called a Digital Certificate, creates a secure link between a website and a visitor's browser. By ensuring that all data passed between the two remains private and secure, SSL encryption prevents hackers from stealing private information such as credit card numbers, names and addresses.

Why SSL certificate is required?

When SSL content inspection for HTTPS traffic is enabled on Seqrite UTM, the web browsers prompt a warning message if the certificate used by the Seqrite SSL inspection is not known by the browser. For this, you need to import Seqrite SSL certificate in browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome for decryption on SSL Inspection.

Scenario

If you tried to open any HTTPS website then it displays the following warning page:

If you click on "Continue to this website (not recommended)", the certificate is temporarily accepted for this connection, but the same message will be prompted at the next connection or when accessing any other HTTPS site.

To avoid any further warning messages, store the Seqrite SSL Certificate permanently.

Follow the steps given below to download SSL Certificate:
