How to add files and folders in Server edition Anti-Virus scanning exclusion?

Overview:

If the user wants to exclude files or folders from AV scanning then “Exclude files and folder” option is available in the Server edition. On the basis file extension, those files can be excluded from the scanning.

NOTE: If files are genuine, then it is recommended to add them to the exclusion list of Anti-Virus. If any of the entries are not genuine, please do not add such entries in the exclusion list of Anti-Virus. This may cause harm to the system/network.

Applicable Versions: Server edition AV 18.00

Configuration Steps:

1. Open the Anti-Virus dashboard and select “Scan options”.

2. Search for “Exclude File and folders” and open the “Settings” option.

3. Click on “Add” to select file/folder location.

4. Click on the “Folder” icon.

5. Select the particular file/folder from the local drive location and click on “Include subfolders”, if required. Click on OK.

6. Select all or specific detection options for excluding files and folders from scanning. Click on “OK”.

7. Click on “Save changes”.

In this way, we can add particular file and folder to Anti-virus scanning exclusion.

If, we want to exclude files on the basis of their file extension, the following are the steps:

1. Open the Anti-Virus dashboard, Open the “Tools” option.

2. Search for “Exclude File extensions” and Open the settings.

3. Enter the file extension. It can be a data file, an executable file. Click on OK.
