How to reset Seqrite Volume Encryption client boot time password

Overview: Seqrite Volume Encryption provides you with a boot time password before logging in to the system. Once you enter the master boot password it takes you to the windows login page, where you can enter the windows password and login the encrypted machine with Seqrite Volume encryption.

Applicable Versions:

Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32 and 64 bit (Max version support build 2009)

Windows server 2008, 2012 and 2016, 2019 64 bit (Max version support build 1903)


Please follow the below steps:

To change/reset the master boot password, follow these steps:

  1. 1. Open Seqrite Volume Encryption as an administrator.
  2. To run SVE as an administrator, follow these steps:
  3. Click Start > Seqrite Volume Encryption > right-click Seqrite Volume Encryption > click More > Run as administrator.
  4. After enabling administrator mode, SVE opens.
  5. On menu, click Volume > Manage boot passwords > Change master boot password.
  6. Note: To change the master boot password, make sure the volumes are encrypted. Otherwise, all the options for Manage boot passwords will appear dimmed.
  7. After changing the master boot password, enter the current password for the volume, and then enter new password twice for verification.
