How to create a custom rule in Quick Heal Antivirus Server edition firewall?

Overview:

  • This document will describe a creation of the custom rule in Quick Heal Antivirus Server edition firewall.
  • In a firewall rule, the action component decides if it will permit or block traffic.

Applicable versions: Quick Heal Antivirus Server edition 16.00, 17.00, 18.00.


Steps:

1. Open Antivirus dashboard and click on “Internet and Network”.

2. Select “Firewall Protection” and click on “Settings” icon.

3. In “Advanced settings”, click on “Configure”.

4. Go to “Traffic Rule” option.

5. Click on “Add”.


6. Enter “Exception name”, Select the “Protocol” and click on “Next”.
For E.g. Exception Name as a “Tally Server”.

7. Enter “IP address” of local system OR select an “IP range” and click on “Next”.

8. Click on “Specified Port”, enter application port which need to exclude and Click on “Next”.

9. For Remote IP address, select “Any ip address” as Default Setting.
OR
Specify particular “IP address range”.
Click on “Next”.

10. Select Remote TCP/UDP port as “Any port” OR “Specific Port” OR “Port Range”. Click on “Next”.

11. Keep “Select action” as “Allow” OR “Deny” and click on “Finish”.


12. Click on "OK" and "Save changes" to update the setting of custom rule.


In this way we can create a customize rule in the Quick Heal Antivirus Server Edition firewall.
