How to setup kiosk mode: mSuite

Overview:

This section describes how to setup kiosk mode in mSuite.

What is (ADO) Android Device Owner?

A Device Owner is an application that runs as a device administrator on your Android 5.0+ device. The Device Owner app can use the programming methods in the Device Policy Manager class to take control of the configuration, security and other applications on the device. A device can have only one Device Owner.

What is Samsung Knox?

Samsung Knox is a comprehensive set of security features for personal and enterprise use per-installed in most of Samsung's smartphones, tablets, and wearables.

To setup kiosk mode in mSuite for ADO/KNOX enabled device/s, follow these steps:

1. Login to “https://cloud.mdm.seqrite.com/” mSuite site using your credentials.

2. Go to Apps→ Configuration→ select the Configuration in which the specified device is added, here it is Default App Configuration is selected →Edit Configuration→System Kiosk Mode.

3. Click On Add Apps and select the App which you want to display on user device/s.

4. In case, if the Restrict new app installation on ADO & Knox Enabled Devices check box is selected in the app configuration, then you must first clear the check box and then add an app to System Kiosk Mode.


Note – System Kiosk Mode is applicable for ADO/KNOX enabled Android & Supervised iOS devices.


To setup kiosk mode in mSuite for Non-ADO/KNOX device/s, follow these steps:

1. Go to Apps→ Configuration→ select the Configuration in which the specified device is added, here it is Default App Configuration is selected →Edit Configuration→Launcher.

2. Turn-ON the Launcher and select the Apps and setting you want to allowed to access on

the device/s. Select Launcher Setting.


3 Select the Active Apps→ tick the Custom Kiosk Mode and click Add Apps to add the App.

4.To enable the System Kiosk Mode on iOS devices select the iOS app and Add Apps as shown in picture given below.

5. To enable System Kiosk mode on iOS device, make sure the added app is already installed on the iOS device. If the app is not installed on the device, the device will be blocked.
