Overview:

Seqrite Backup Feature allows to take a periodic backup of important data files present on the Endpoints.

By default, the following data file types are backed up by the Seqrite backup feature:

.doc, .odp, .txt, .docx, .ods, .wps, .dps, .odt, .wpt, .dpt, .pdf, .xls, .et, .ppt, .xlsx, .ett, .pptx, .odg, .rtf, .docm, .xlsm and .pptm

This article will help you backup custom file extensions/ file types other than the default file types.

For ex: Tally, MySQL, AutoCAD etc. data will be backed up once back up file is updated on the endpoints.

Applicable versions: Seqrite EPS 7.4 and below.

For EPS 7.4 and below versions, custom extension for backup can be added from EPS Client.

To add custom file type for backup, follow the steps:

1. Turn off Self Protection from the EPS client.

2. Go to “C:Program FilesSeqriteSeqrite”.

3. Open file “CFRSCONF.INI” using notepad.

4. Three options are available to add custom file types in the backup file “CFRSCONF.INI”.

  • INCLUDE= Append Extensions in the default list at the end (File type size up to 25 MB)
  • INCLUDE_S=Add extension (File type size is between 25 MB to 4 GB)
  • INCLUDE_B=Add extension (File type size is between 4 GB to 8 GB)

5. If the custom file extension/ file type size is between 25 MB to 4 GB, then add custom file extension in the available option “INCLUDE_S”.
For Ex:
If wish to back up Tally Data which has file type tsf, 900. Add tally data file type in the backup file.
Tally data will be backed up once the file “CFRSCONF.INI” is updated on the endpoints.

6. If the custom file extension/ file type size is between 4 GB to 8 GB, then add custom file extension in the available option “INCLUDE_B”.
For Ex:
If wish to back up AutoCAD data which has file type dwg. Add file type in the backup file.
AutoCAD data will be backed up once the file “CFRSCONF.INI” is updated on the endpoints.

7. Turn ON Self Protection.

In this way, you can add custom file types to the backup configuration file on the endpoints.
